My friend John asked me to shoot some photos of him for his new music project. As usual, I was filled with angst as the shoot day approached. I don't know why, but it seems as though I lose all faith in my abilities between shoots, then I finally start shooting, we have fun, make some nice pictures and all is well again. I even think we got a few decent photos tonight. Gawd bless post production for cleaning up backdrop edges and such.
Our little cutie-pa-tootie, Kira, graduated from pre-school on Friday, then promptly turned 5 years old today. She's had quite a busy weekend.
She loves music, so for her birthday I gave her a CD player and made her a mix CD. Jesse, called me today to say that she's been listening to it non-stop -- repeating track 9 -- Time is Running Out by Muse. He later stole the CD and played it in the house system --- Blink 182's cover of Dancing with Myself opened it up, followed by Van Morrison's Brown Eyed Girl. Jesse called me all choked up. He makes fun of me for being a sap, but he's just as bad as I am.
I just hope she likes it as much as he does.
Today is also Father's Day. So, happy Father's Day to my brother -- one of the best dads on earth. And, a very happy Father's Day to Bill, and to my dad Jim too. And to all the other dad's celebrating today, have a good one!
Are you sick of hearing me talk about work? I would imagine that most people are. I certainly am. Whatever, it's a major part of my life at the moment, so what can I do? It's kind of like new moms who can only talk about their kids -- oh so annoying.
Anyway, below is a photo from a recent trip to Alcatraz. I was there for work (I know you're shocked). We're lighting an event on The Rock tomorrow and had a site visit to plan logistics and help develop a design. Anyway, this glimpse was found up on the infirmary floor. It's pretty creepy up there and reminded me of that MTV show Fear.
While there, we had a private tour of the back areas and were treated to a few great history lessons. More pictures are on Flickr. Yeah, I like my job, even if I do feel the need to check email at 1am.
