I had a bit of a melt down yesterday as I tried to get dressed for work, the carnage of which still lays strewn around the floor of my bedroom. What it comes down to it this:
1. I will never again buy a pair of linen pants.
2. Tight pants and tight sweaters do not mix.
3. Peach capris pants. Ugh. No.
4. Same goes for purple.
5. Flat black sling backs stay on better when you cut off the sling.
6. When in doubt, wear black.
Although the black pants did come through, they too were tight in all the wrong places, and had two missing buttons. But, alas, I was out of time and had to (as Tim Gunn would say) make it work.
As I drove to work in total muffin-top discomfort, I made a decision. Every item of clothing laying on my floor and also the one's I didn't even bother to try on still hanging in the closet, would go into trash bags for donation (or to be burned -- I really don't care). Yes, every last stitch. Gone. Forever. Buh-bye. I'm serious.
Now, I hate shopping, so the idea of having to shop for new stuff to replace the crap is rather unappealing at best, but it's that or wear clothes I hate. So, to get me started in the wardrobe overhaul, I splurged a bit on this cute new purse (found on Etsy - Pink Lemonade Boutique). I also managed to get to a real brick & mortor store where I picked up a couple of new tops -- mostly basics, but cute cuts and colors. Now, if someone can find me a couple of pencil skirts and a decent pair of black pants by Wednesday (my next dress up day for work), I would be in heaven.
